*clears throat*
Hello, my name is Titi. I am a student, writer and [insert other identities here].
To be honest, I have procrastinated starting this newsletter for a while now and my reason is 99% attributed to fear: Would people like this? What if I run out of things to say?…the list goes on. But this year, we’re doing things afraid, so here goes.
A little history:
The idea for this newsletter came to me late last year when some of my friends reached out to tell me how much they enjoyed the articles I shared often on my Whatsapp status and looked forward to them (OMG, I sound like those a lot of you have been asking me YouTubers).
It was so surprising to me because I genuinely thought no one was paying attention to them. It’s like how you share screenshots of songs on your insta story and you’re hoping someone actually listens, but you know they most likely won’t.
Thus, I decided to curate a list of articles/essays/short stories etc. I read weekly and share with my friends. But how would I know all the people interested? What tool would allow me easily send this resource at once? Thus, this newsletter was birthed.
I am also always contemplating concepts such as love, existential angst, relationships, success, and other themes of human existence and these would occasionally feature in my letters to you.
What you can expect:
Every Sunday (hopefully), you would receive a list of my favourite/intriguing/just stuff I read and like and think you should like articles, along with summaries so you know what to expect.
Along with the articles, I would also be sharing my life’s musings/lessons each week as I navigate life as an exhausted Gen Z trying to get an education and become skilful enough for capitalist standards.
Every last Saturday of the month, you shall receive two newsletters; a two-for-one deal, if you may. The first would be the regular newsletter and the second would be an article or short story written by yours truly.
This newsletter is for:
Former voracious readers who, thanks to social media, now have too little attention span to commit to an entire book, but still want to read.
People who are trying to widen their reading scope but do not know where to start.
People who can relate to being in your twenties, the complexities of human existence and trying to figure shit out.
Friends and family who love me and want to support me, but may never actually read the links because they don’t enjoy reading. (I see you, I love you).
Thank you for joining me.
With love,
Titi.
Ohhhh my baby, I am really proud of you
From your friend
Anjola xoxo
Looking forward to many pleasant reads
